Todorov’s Narrative Structure

1. Equilibrium: At the start of the it will display the norm where the majority of the characters are content and everything is as it should be.

2. Disruption: The next part of the story will feature a problem or something that disrupts the "norm"

3. Realisation: The part of the story where the characters "realise" the problem.

4. Restored order: The part of the story where the characters try to fix the problem.

5. Equilibrium: The problem is resolved and the norm is restored.

The purpose of all media regulation is to make sure that the media is not producing inappropriate continent and that it stands by all the rules and regulations that are set by the regulators.
